Health and Safety Manager
Leicester
£400 per day (Outside IR35)
We've been engaged by one of the leading integrated waste management companies in the UK to recruit a Health and Safety Manager on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. The contract will focus on undertaking a key new construction project, managing all of the contractors on site whilst carrying out general health and safety construction duties.
The responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager will be:
- Oversee all contractors on site, ensuring best practice is maintained and identify key areas for improvement
- Delivering support and training to site operatives on health, safety and environmental issues as required
- Performing regular audits and inspections across sites in the regional area, accurately reporting on findings
- Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and legislation, striving to reach industry best practice
- Develop and maintain key systems, staying on top of the permitting process
- Ensuring all work undertaken is managed and aligned with ISO 9001 accreditation standards, stored, managed and organised on IT systems
The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within construction
- Client side and Principal Contractor experience is desirable
- NEBOSH or equivalent Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Desirable)
- Experience with ISO Management Systems
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues at all levels
