Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Birmingham with travel across the West Midlands
Circa £50,000 + Car Allowance
An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of the UK's leading Construction and Facilities Management organisations to recruit their new Health and Safety Advisor. This is a great opportunity to work for a forward-thinking organisation who are leaders in their field.
The position will join an established Safety, Health & Environmental team, operating within a dynamic, fast paced environment covering their Ministry of Justice programme across the West Midlands region, with the aim to improve safety across their workforce.
Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:
- Travel to sites across the West Midlands, delivering a regular inspection and audit program, ensuring the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment policies
- Working closely with the Health, Safety and Environment team to identify areas for performance improvement and creating ideas to take advantage of these
- Accurately reporting on Health and Safety performance, investigating accidents and incidents and identifying the root cause
The successful Health and Safety Advisor candidate will have:
- Ideally experience in a similar role with relevant sector e.g. Hard Facilities Management, CDM, or Property Maintenance
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and ideally membership of IOSH
- Good communications skills with experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
- Good knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
- DBS clearance will be essential due to the nature of these projects
