Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a national civil engineering contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This role involves overseeing projects across all business units. The company is an established leader in the civil engineering industry, working on a variety of large-scale projects across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the health and safety function across the business.
Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Manager will include:
- Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on-site, ensuring compliance with regulations and staying updated on key legislative changes.
- Engaging with managers, clarifying responsibilities, and addressing technical health and safety queries.
- Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations, consistently seeking areas for improvement, and developing health and safety performance.
The successful Health and Safety Manager will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within construction and civil engineering industries.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
A UK driver's licence is essential.
