Irwin and Colton are pleased to have been engaged by a forward-thinking housing trust to recruit a Health and Safety Coordinator. The organisation is well established in their industry and provides homes for residents across the region. Health and Safety has always been at the top of the agenda and this role is critical to ensure their continued success.
The overall purpose of this role is to support senior management with site audits, inspections and general health and safety coordination. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to progress in their career as they establish themselves within the business.
Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Coordinator will include:
- Ensuring the health and safety management system is implemented successfully throughout the business and activities carried out are compliant
- Co-ordinate and communicate health and safety activity across the business
- Visiting sites to conduct audits and inspections and answer any health and safety related queries
- Accurately reporting on health and safety performance and communicating this across the organisation
The successful Health and Safety Coordinator will have:
- Proven health, safety experience, ideally from social housing, facilities management or property related environments
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOSH
- Excellent communications skills with proven experience of engaging with a range of stakeholders
- A positive and pragmatic attitude to problem solving within Health and Safety
