We've been engaged by one of the UK's largest and most prestigious specialist waste management companies to recruit an Environment and Waste Compliance Lead. The organisation has over 20 sites nationwide and provide a critical service for their clients.
Key responsibilities Environment and Waste Compliance Lead include:
- Leading on the Competence Management System for the business
- Constantly identifying areas for improvement of the Competence Management System and implementing solutions
- Conducting audits and assessments against the Competence Management System to ensure compliance
- Liaising with regulatory stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, preparing and submitting waste management permits
A successful Environment and Waste Compliance Lead candidate will have:
- Compliance experience within the waste and recycling sector and an understanding of the regulatory environment
- Background experience with Competence Management Systems is preferred
- Holding or have held a WAMBITAB qualification
- Strong background knowledge of environmental regulations and ideally previous history liaising with regulatory bodies - particularly the Environment Agency
- Excellent attention to detail with strong Excel skills
