Environment Manager
Carlisle with Hybrid working
£50,000 - £60,000 + Car allowance (relocation / stay away package offered)
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the UKs leading construction groups to recruit an Environment Manager. This position will be working closely with a prestigious client on one of their major infrastructure projects to imbed environmental initiatives on site, working towards their ambitious targets. The organisation has a track record of successful operation across major construction and infrastructure projects, and are continuing to keep sustainability at the heart of their operation.
Responsibilities for the Environment Manager will include:
Ensuring the delivery of the environmental policy, and compliance with legislation and regulations across a wide range of diverse infrastructure projects
Carrying out site inspections and audits, undertake preliminary environmental assessments and provide environmental training where required
Acting as the main point of contact for the environmental sustainability program with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulators
Provide support in carbon measurement carbon reduction opportunities
The successful Environment Manager will have:
Proven experience in a similar role ideally within the construction, infrastructure or wider built environment - highways is advantageous.
Ideally a degree in a relevant Environmental related subject
Experience with Environmental management systems e.g., ISO14001, waste management plans and ideally carbon and energy reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ideally experience working closely with stakeholders
